Columbus and his family lived in Murphree-Hollingsworth Cabin while their home "Twelve Mile", was being built in 1868.
1417. John Newton Hollingsworth
John and his wife Millie came to texas in a covered wagon shortly after the Civil War. John and Millie had two grocery stores and bought half of the desks for the school he helped to establish there, he donated land on his farm to build a Baptist Church, he and Millie were charter members.
John and Millie has at least eight children as seen in the photo.

Elizabeth's children Samuel, Margarita and Joanna died in July 1849 of Cholera, huge epidemic at that time.
Elizabeth and John had been married by a Presbyterian minister in Belleville even though John was Catholic. However, the week her three children died Elizabeth converted to Catholicism. Elizabeth and her four children were baptized at Cathedral of St Peter, St Belleville Illinois. William was born in September two months later.
Dr. Butler specialized in diseases of women and children. How horrifying to have three older children die so tragically and three of the later one die young.
Only Helena, my great-grandmother has living descendants.
